When the Toranas headed back, ten of the 24 Formula 5000 drivers wheeled out their mounts to do the equal. The historic on tour car grouping is always fiercely contested. Frazer Ross was invincible in the over 3-litre tourers. His 1968 Mustang confirmed the way to Tony Hubbard’s 1967 Camaro, Darryl Hansen’s 1969 Mustang and Darren Collins’ 1969 Camaro.

Formula Ford driver Mark Samson takes home 2 wins and the ‘Driver of the Meeting’ Award. The further wins went to Jonathan Miles and Tim Blanchard with Andrew McInnis in the first 3 every weekend. It worked and he came absent by means of four class wins. Of the newer cars, the Shelby GT350s of Chad Parrish and US driver Scott Hackenson shared the outright honors, organization keep a hard driving Don Thallon at bay. The afterward Sc cars had their races to themselves. On Saturday Perry Spiridis had to use all of his 5.8 liters to stay in front of Geoffrey Morgan’s Porsche 911 with half the Ford’s engine capacity.

UK guest Andy Newell claimed 3rd in front of Michael Byrne’s inspiring force in the 1.5 liter Lotus Seven S4. These four frequent the performance in their afternoon race. First Appear of 2014 Cadillac ATS-V

The 2013 Cadillac ATS is a courageous step for GM’s luxury brand, as it enters a segment of the automotive market conquered by German rivals similar to the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. But if you want evidence that Cadillac is serious about the ATS, check out what’s in store for the performance variation due sometime in the next model year. These illustrations of the 2014 Cadillac ATS-V give a clue as to the track of Cadillac’s introduce fighting sports sedan. Lower than stock and riding on superior multi-spoke alloy wheels, the ATS-V adds wire mesh grilles op front, lowered side sills, and dual-exhausts peeking out of a rear diffuser. Unfortunately, a peek underneath the hood will most likely have to wait for at least a few more months.

2014 Cadillac ATS-V

Standard versions of the ATS will be presented with a choice of two 4-cylinder engines, or the current series topping 318-bhp 3.6-liter V-6. Cadillac has superior the ride and handling at the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, and the ATS’ 50/50 weight allocation was highly touted when the car debuted throughout this year’s 2012 Detroit Auto Show. That makes it improbable that Cadillac will shoehorn the 6.2-liter V-8 from the larger CTS-V into the more compact ATS. The 556-bhp engine could establish a bit too vicious in the smaller sedan, and it could filch sales from its bigger sports-oriented sibling.

2014 Cadillac ATS-V

We think a twin-turbocharged V-6 is further expected. Though we’ll have to wait to know if the current 3.6-liter or the forthcoming 3.0-liter V-6 will be the engine of choice. Coupled to this as-yet-unknown power plant will be a 6-speed automatic and – unless Caddy decides there aren’t sufficient buyers engrossed in shifting for themselves – a 6-speed manual gearbox. The brakes and deferment will be strengthened to match the boost in performance. With the CTS-V doling out 556 bhp, it’s expected the ATS-V will be somewhere in the region of 400-450 bhp.

EV Car Architect Aptera Shuts Losing

Automotive establish company Aptera Motors, supporter of the weirdly styled, three-wheeled 2e electric car shut down on Friday, saying it was out of money.

The company said it was unable to raise funds from personal investors that would have kept it going until it received a $150 million loan from the Department of Energy's Advance Technology Vehicle Manufacturing curriculum.

This is a difficult time for everyone associated with our company because we have never been closer to realizing our vision, CEO Paul Wilbur said in an announcement.

In August, Aptera returned cash deposits it had taken from potential buyers of the 2e. At that time it said the refunds were compulsory because a six-month window with its credit card processor to launch construction had passed.

Aptera garnered attention by entering the 2e in the 2008 Automotive X Prize contest. At that time, the company claimed the 2e would get the comparable of 300 mpg and cost less than $30,000.

Wilbur said Aptera has spent the last year emergent a hybrid-powered sedan, about the same size as a Toyota Camry, which would return the comparable of 190 mpg and have a base price less than $30,000. Aptera had been negotiating to use a blocked auto plant in Moraine, Ohio, to build the car.

Aptera has also been distillation technology that let it produce body panels from compound materials with a Class A surface finish that would not need to be painted--which would severely cut labor and manufacture costs.

We remain confident, even as this chapter closes, that Aptera has contributed new technologies to build an opportunity for more efficient driving. Through the enthusiastic staff at Aptera, our board and suppliers we have touched this outlook. All that remainder is for an important person to grab it.
